Mommy Makeover for Coweta Patients: The Drive, Consult & Aftercare
Coweta sits about 12 miles from our practice — a short drive to an AAAHC-accredited surgery center where mommy makeover plans are built one patient at a time.

What a mommy makeover actually is
A mommy makeover is not one set surgery. It is a plan built from procedures that treat changes after pregnancy. Common parts include a tummy tuck, breast surgery — a lift, implants, or both — and liposuction. The combination is tailored to each patient's anatomy and goals. No two plans look the same.
Doing these procedures together means one anesthesia event and one recovery period rather than several separate ones spread over months. If the combined surgery would run too long, we split the work into two safer stages. Safety sets the pace, not convenience.
The surgeons of Tulsa Surgical Arts perform mommy makeovers in our AAAHC-accredited surgery center, which includes a private overnight guest suite for patients who benefit from monitored post-operative observation.
The drive from Coweta
Coweta is about 12 miles from our practice in a straight line. That proximity matters most in the early weeks after surgery, when follow-up visits are frequent and you want your surgical team close. A short drive home after your first post-operative check is easier than a long one.
We see patients from communities across the Tulsa metro and well beyond. For Coweta patients, the practical advantage is simple: your surgeon and the facility where your procedure was performed are nearby throughout your entire recovery arc.
How the consultation works
Every surgical plan begins with a consultation. You meet your surgeon, discuss your goals, and review your anatomy in detail. The conversation is candid — what surgery can accomplish, what it cannot, and what the honest risks look like. You leave with a specific plan, not a brochure.
During this visit we also discuss the order of procedures in the operating room, expected surgery length, and whether your plan is best completed in one stage or two. The breast and abdomen are planned together so proportions make sense as a whole.
If you have questions before scheduling a consultation, our team is available by phone at 918-392-7900. There is no obligation. The goal of the first visit is information.
What happens in the operating room
You receive general anesthesia. The surgical team works in a planned order, usually breast first, then abdomen. Each component follows the same steps it would as a standalone procedure. Total operating time depends on the plan, and we cap surgery length for safety.
Incisions are closed in layers. Compression garments and a surgical bra are placed before you leave the operating room. Some patients stay one night in our private guest suite for monitoring. Your surgeon determines whether an overnight stay is appropriate for your specific plan.
Recovery and the honest risk list
The tummy tuck component leads the recovery. You walk bent forward for the first several days. Real help at home is not optional — it is a requirement for the first week. Early walking is your best protection against blood clots, which are a risk with any longer combined surgery.
Every surgery carries risks. These include bleeding, infection, fluid buildup, slow-healing areas, scarring, temporary or permanent numbness near incisions, uneven results, anesthesia complications, and the possibility of a revision procedure. We review every risk with you in person before you consent to surgery.
Signs of a serious complication — spreading redness, warmth, pus, fever, chest pain, or sudden leg swelling — require immediate attention. If you experience chest pain or difficulty breathing, call 911 first. Our patient gallery shows real results at various stages of healing so you can see what the recovery arc looks like.
Aftercare close to home
Post-operative visits are typically scheduled at intervals over the weeks and months following surgery. Living about 12 miles away means these check-ins fit into a normal day rather than requiring travel planning. Your surgeon monitors healing, manages garments, and addresses any concerns in real time.
We encourage every prospective patient to consult a qualified surgeon, ask direct questions, and take the time needed to make a confident decision. When you are ready, we are here.
