Cosmetic Surgery in the US for Patients Traveling from India

Patients travel to Tulsa Surgical Arts from India for rhinoplasty, deep plane facelift, revision surgery, and total-body contouring. Here is how we approach that responsibility and how a consultation works.

Why patients from India choose a US cosmetic surgery practice

Choosing to travel abroad for surgery is a serious decision. International patients often seek a practice that combines high surgical volume, facility accreditation, and a team experienced in complex and revision work. Those are reasonable criteria. They are also the criteria we hold ourselves to every day at Tulsa Surgical Arts.

Our practice is led by Dr. Angelo Cuzalina, a past president of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and a past president of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. The practice focus spans rhinoplasty, deep plane facelift, complex revision surgery, and total-body contouring. Our team of six cosmetic surgeons operates from an AAAHC-accredited surgery center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

We also run a nationally recognized cosmetic surgery fellowship that trains the next generation of surgeons here. That teaching culture means every technique is examined, refined, and held to evidence. It shapes the care every patient receives, whether they live nearby or travel from India.

The consultation: where your surgical plan begins

Every surgical journey starts with a consultation. During this visit you meet your surgeon, discuss your goals, review your anatomy, and receive a candid assessment of what surgery can and cannot accomplish. There is no shortcut around this step. A responsible plan requires it.

For patients traveling from India, our consult team can help coordinate timing so you make the most of your trip. The consultation is thorough. We review your medical history, examine the areas of concern, and walk through the surgical approach in plain language. You leave with a clear understanding of the procedure, the recovery timeline, and what to expect.

We encourage patients to bring questions. A consultation is a conversation, not a sales presentation. If surgery is not the right answer for your goals, we will say so directly.

Our facility and what to expect on surgery day

Tulsa Surgical Arts operates from an AAAHC-accredited surgery center at 7322 E 91st St, Tulsa, OK 74133. AAAHC accreditation is the same standard used by many ambulatory surgical facilities nationwide. It reflects ongoing compliance with safety, staffing, and quality benchmarks.

On surgery day you arrive at the time confirmed by the surgical team. You check in, complete pre-operative preparation, and have a final review with your surgeon and anesthesia provider. After surgery you wake in recovery under one-to-one observation. Our facility includes a private overnight guest suite — designed for patients who are traveling and need a monitored place to rest before returning to their accommodations.

After anesthesia you may not drive, take a rideshare alone, or leave unaccompanied. A responsible adult must be with you for the first twenty-four hours. The consult team will discuss logistics with you well before your surgery date.

Recovery planning for international patients

Recovery timelines depend on the procedure. Your surgeon will outline the specific milestones — when sutures come out, when swelling typically subsides, when you can resume normal activity. Follow-up appointments are part of the plan, and the team will work with you on scheduling those before you travel.

When any written instruction differs from what your surgical team tells you directly, their instructions win. We provide detailed written guidance covering preparation, surgery day, and the full arc of healing. Our team is reachable by phone at 918-392-7900 throughout your recovery.

Planning ahead matters. International patients benefit from building extra time into their stay so follow-up visits and early recovery happen under our direct care. Your consult coordinator can help you think through that timeline.

Results vary from patient to patient. We encourage anyone considering surgery to consult a qualified surgeon, review that surgeon's work, and make a decision based on evidence rather than convenience.
