Cosmetic Surgery in the US for Patients From the United Kingdom
Patients from the United Kingdom choose to travel for cosmetic surgery when they want a specific surgeon, a specific technique, or a level of individualized care they have not found closer to home. Here is how a consultation at Tulsa Surgical Arts works.

Why patients from the United Kingdom reach out to us
We hear from patients in the United Kingdom for many of the same reasons we hear from patients across the United States. They are looking for a surgeon whose focus matches their concern. They want to understand the plan before they commit. And they want honest, unhurried communication throughout the process.
Our practice in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is led by Dr. Angelo Cuzalina, MD, DDS, who has performed over 18,000 procedures. His areas of focus include rhinoplasty, deep plane facelift, complex revision surgery, and total-body contouring. The practice operates from an AAAHC-accredited surgery center, which means the facility meets national standards for patient safety and quality.
We welcome international patients. The consultation process is designed to be thorough regardless of where you live, and our team coordinates each step so that distance does not compromise the quality of your care.
How a consultation begins
Every patient starts the same way: a conversation. You can reach our team by phone at 918-392-7900, by text, or through our online booking system. We will ask about your goals, your medical history, and the procedure or procedures you are considering. This initial exchange helps us determine whether a consultation is the right next step.
For patients who are not local, we work to gather as much information as possible before you travel. Clear photographs, a written list of your medications and supplements, and a candid description of what you hope to achieve all help the surgeon prepare a meaningful evaluation. When you do meet face to face, the time is spent on planning rather than introductions.
The in-person consultation and surgical planning
An in-person examination is a necessary part of surgical planning. Skin quality, tissue thickness, underlying bone structure, and proportional relationships all inform the approach. These details cannot be fully assessed from a photograph alone. The consultation is a working session: the surgeon examines you, discusses realistic outcomes, explains the technique, and answers your questions directly.
Dr. Cuzalina has served as president of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and president of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. He is recognized as a Master Surgeon in Specialized Cosmetic Surgery for both face and neck as well as trunk, breast, and extremities by the Surgical Review Corporation. That depth of experience shapes every recommendation he makes.
If surgery is appropriate, the team outlines a plan that includes the procedure itself, anesthesia, recovery expectations, and follow-up. Nothing moves forward until you are comfortable with every detail.
Surgery day and recovery at our facility
Our surgery center is located at 7322 E 91st St, Tulsa, OK 74133. It is AAAHC-accredited and includes a private overnight guest suite for patients who are traveling. After anesthesia, a responsible adult must drive you home or to your recovery accommodation and stay with you for the first 24 hours. Our team provides discharge instructions in person to both you and your companion.
On surgery day, you arrive at the time confirmed for your specific case. You check in, complete pre-operative preparation, and have a final review with your surgeon and anesthesia provider. After the procedure, you wake in recovery under one-to-one observation. Patients using the guest suite transition upstairs when the clinical team is satisfied with your immediate recovery.
Follow-up appointments are scheduled before you leave. We discuss the timeline for these visits during the planning phase so you can coordinate accordingly. Results vary from patient to patient, and healing is a process that unfolds over weeks and months. We stay in close communication throughout.
What to prepare before you travel
Bring a photo ID, your completed patient paperwork, and a written list of every medication and supplement you take. Wear loose, front-opening clothing and slip-on shoes. Leave jewelry, piercings, and valuables at home. Do not wear makeup, lotion, deodorant, or fragrance on surgery day. If you wear glasses, bring them with a case — no contact lenses.
Patient forms are available ahead of time so you can review and complete them before your visit. If anything in our written materials differs from what your surgical team tells you directly, their instructions take priority. Our office hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. You can reach us by phone or text at 918-392-7900.
