A short drive from Owasso to a dedicated cosmetic surgery center
Owasso sits about 18 miles from Tulsa Surgical Arts, measured in a straight line. That distance puts our AAAHC-accredited surgery center within easy reach for a consultation, the procedure itself, and every follow-up visit afterward. We see patients from communities across the Tulsa metro, including Owasso, and the drive is one most patients find manageable even during early recovery.
Choosing a surgeon for breast augmentation is a personal decision. Proximity matters, but so do the surgeon's training, the facility's accreditation, and the ability to see real patient results before you commit. Our practice was built around those priorities.
What happens at your breast augmentation consultation
Every surgical plan begins with a consultation. You meet your surgeon, discuss your goals, and review your anatomy together. Breast augmentation adds size and shape to the breasts using an implant — a soft shell filled with saline or silicone gel. The implant sits behind the breast tissue or behind the chest muscle. You and your surgeon choose the size and placement together at this visit, sized to your frame and decided with you.
This conversation is candid. Your surgeon will explain what augmentation can and cannot accomplish, walk through the honest risk list, and answer every question you bring. Nothing is decided until you are ready.
Our patient gallery shows real patients photographed the same way before and after surgery. Reviewing those cases during your consultation helps set realistic expectations for your own result.
The procedure: what happens in the operating room
Surgery begins with anesthesia to keep you comfortable. Your surgeon places the incision most commonly within the natural fold beneath the breast, with attention to keeping the resulting scar as discreet as possible. A precise pocket is then created for the implant — either beneath the breast tissue or beneath the chest muscle, depending on your anatomy and surgical plan.
The selected implant is carefully positioned, and your surgeon evaluates its placement, symmetry, and overall proportion before closing the incisions in layers, typically using dissolvable sutures. Breast augmentation is an outpatient procedure. You return home the same day with detailed instructions for your recovery. Our surgery center also includes a private overnight guest suite if your surgical plan warrants it.
Risks you should understand before your consult
Every surgery carries risks, and we review all of them with you in person. A firm scar shell can form around the implant — called capsular contracture — which can change the shape and cause discomfort. Surgery can correct it. An implant can leak or break over time, and broken implants are replaced or removed. Nipple sensation can change: it may increase, decrease, or resolve differently than before.
Implants do not last a lifetime. Plan on additional surgery at some point in the future. Breastfeeding may be affected for some women. A very rare cancer of the scar tissue around certain implants has been reported. We encourage you to ask about every concern at your visit. If you experience any emergency symptom after surgery, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room immediately.
Aftercare and follow-up for Owasso patients
Recovery requires follow-up visits, and the drive from Owasso keeps those appointments practical. Your surgeon provides a detailed recovery plan on the day of surgery, and the team is reachable by phone throughout your healing.
Because the distance is about 18 miles, most Owasso patients find it straightforward to return for post-operative checks without arranging overnight stays. That accessibility matters during the early weeks when your surgeon monitors healing, implant position, and your comfort level.
