Traveling to Tulsa for Surgery: A Plan for Virginia Beach Patients
Virginia Beach is about 1,103 miles from our practice — a flight or a long drive. Patients make that trip because the right surgeon and the right facility matter more than proximity.

Why patients travel to Tulsa for cosmetic surgery
Choosing a cosmetic surgeon is a deeply personal decision. Some patients find the right fit close to home. Others decide that a specific surgeon's focus, training, or volume of experience warrants a trip. We see patients from communities across Oklahoma, from regional cities such as Dallas and Kansas City, and from national markets including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Atlanta.
The common thread is straightforward. Each patient decided that the surgeon and the facility mattered more than proximity. Virginia Beach patients who reach out to us follow the same logic. They research a procedure, identify a surgeon whose experience aligns with their goals, and plan accordingly.
Dr. Angelo Cuzalina founded Tulsa Surgical Arts with a focus on rhinoplasty, deep plane facelift, complex revision surgery, and total-body contouring. The practice operates from an AAAHC-accredited surgery center — the same accreditation standard used by many ambulatory surgical facilities nationwide.
Starting the conversation: your consultation
Every surgical plan begins with a consultation. During this visit you meet your surgeon, discuss your goals, review your anatomy, and receive a candid assessment of what surgery can and cannot accomplish. For out-of-town patients, our consult team can help coordinate timing so you make the most of your trip.
We encourage you to prepare a list of questions before your consultation. Bring photographs if they help illustrate your goals. The consultation is a two-way conversation — your surgeon needs to understand what matters to you, and you need to understand the realistic scope of any procedure. That honesty is the foundation of a good surgical plan.
Planning travel and recovery from Virginia Beach
Virginia Beach is about 1,103 miles from our practice, measured in a straight line. That means most patients fly or plan a longer drive. Our consult team works with out-of-town patients regularly and can help you think through the logistics of timing your visit.
After anesthesia, you may not drive yourself, take a rideshare alone, or leave unaccompanied. A responsible adult must drive you from the facility and stay with you for the first 24 hours. Our practice includes a private overnight guest suite designed for exactly this situation — ask the consult team when you schedule.
Our address is 7322 E 91st St, Tulsa, OK 74133. Free on-site parking is available, and surgery-day drop-off and pick-up happen directly at the entrance. The office is open Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The practice behind the plan
Tulsa Surgical Arts is home to a team of six cosmetic surgeons and a nationally recognized cosmetic surgery fellowship dedicated to training the next generation of surgeons. That teaching culture means every technique is examined, refined, and held to evidence. It shapes the care every patient receives, whether they drive five miles or fly from Virginia Beach.
Dr. Cuzalina is a past president of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and a past president of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. He has performed over 18,000 procedures. He was recognized as a Master Surgeon in Specialized Cosmetic Surgery for both Face & Neck and Trunk, Breast & Extremities by the Surgical Review Corporation in 2021.
Our facility is AAAHC-accredited. Patient safety, meticulous technique, and natural-looking results are the priorities that guide every procedure we perform. We encourage you to consult a qualified surgeon before making any surgical decision.
