Why patients travel to Tulsa Surgical Arts
At Tulsa Surgical Arts, our team of six cosmetic surgeons provides advanced surgical and aesthetic care for patients in Tulsa and from across the country. Dr. Angelo Cuzalina founded the practice and serves as fellowship director. He has performed over 18,000 procedures and holds recognition as an SRC Master Surgeon in Specialized Cosmetic Surgery for both Face & Neck and Trunk, Breast & Extremities.
Our AAAHC-accredited surgery center reflects a commitment to safety standards that traveling patients can verify independently. The practice focus includes rhinoplasty, deep plane facelift, complex revision surgery, and total-body contouring. Dr. Cuzalina served as president of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery in 2011–2012 and president of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery in 2013.
We also house a nationally recognized cosmetic surgery fellowship dedicated to training the next generation of surgeons. That teaching environment keeps every member of our team current, precise, and accountable.
The consultation: what to expect from Kansas City
Your first step is a consultation. Kansas City is about 226 miles from our practice — a flight or a long drive. We encourage you to contact our team at 918-392-7900 (text welcome) to discuss scheduling. Our hours are Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
For your consultation visit, bring photo ID, a written list of every medication and supplement you take, and any completed patient forms. The same forms our front office provides are available as PDFs to print and fill out ahead of time. Arrive prepared with your questions — this visit is yours, and we want to use every minute well.
Surgery day and the overnight guest suite
On surgery day, you arrive at the time confirmed by the surgical team — it is set for your specific case. You check in, complete pre-operative preparation, and have a final review with your surgeon and anesthesia provider. After your procedure, you wake in recovery under one-to-one observation.
The rule is straightforward: after anesthesia, you may not drive yourself home, take a rideshare alone, or leave unaccompanied. A responsible adult drives you and stays with you for the first 24 hours. For patients traveling from Kansas City, our private overnight guest suite exists for exactly this purpose. Ask the consult team about it when you schedule.
Free on-site parking is available, and your driver can pull directly to the entrance for surgery-day drop-off and pick-up. Our address is 7322 E 91st St, Tulsa, OK 74133.
Recovery planning for traveling patients
Recovery timelines depend on your procedure. We provide detailed written instructions at discharge, and when any instruction differs from what your surgical team tells you directly, their spoken guidance wins. Planning ahead matters more when you are traveling — know your follow-up schedule before you leave Tulsa.
Wear loose, front-opening clothing and slip-on shoes on surgery day. Leave jewelry, piercings, and valuables at home. Bring glasses and a case if you wear contacts, your phone and charger, and nothing you would mind losing. These small details reduce stress on a day that should feel calm and organized.
