This is a 26 year old white female shown before and 2 ½ months following an open rhinoplasty (nose job). Dr. Cuzalina performed her rhinoplasty using a septal extension cartilage graft to elevate her sagging nasal tip (ptotic tip) and simultaneous augment the area of columellar retraction at the base of her nose near her anterior nasal spine. Combining this nasal tip technique with nasal hump reduction gave her a much more elegant nose particularly from the profile view. The technique also corrected her nasolabial angle that was too obtuse (90°) to a more aesthetically pleasing 100° NL angle. In addition, Dr. Cuzalina performed a subtle reduction of nasal tip shape by taking a cephalic strip of lateral crural cartilages and flipping them forward (caudally) to reinforce the strength of her tip and prevent unwanted alar retraction. Lastly, he performed micro puncture type lateral bone osteotomies to narrow the upper half of her nose to keep it all proportionate after the hump reduction. A nasal splint remained in place for one week after the surgery.
