Meet Dr. Champion

Dr. Carisa Champion is a board-certified cosmetic surgeon with a passion for enhancing the inherent beauty of her patients from a whole person perspective, helping them look refreshed and natural. With a decade of surgical experience and nearly 3,000 cases, she specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, utilizing the latest techniques to achieve exceptional results. Known for her compassionate approach and meticulous attention to detail, Dr. Champion partners with her patients to create personalized treatment plans that align with their unique goals and desires.

Education and Involvement

Dr. Champion is recognized for her groundbreaking achievements in medicine, law, and public health. She holds the distinction of being the first individual to simultaneously attend and graduate from medical school, law school, and a master’s program in public health. Her commitment to improving healthcare at multiple levels includes serving as a White House intern and collaborating with the Department of Health and Human Services on various health-related initiatives. Her extensive involvement in national organizations reflects her dedication to health and her patients.

After medical school, Dr. Champion trained in general surgery in Pennsylvania and Florida. During her training she enjoyed working in cosmetic, trauma, reconstructive and wound surgery. She received additional training in genital reconstructive surgery. After graduation from her general surgery residency, she was accepted into a cosmetic surgery fellowship through the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Champion specializes in body procedures including mommy makeovers, arms, legs, liposuction and wound surgery as well as genital reconstruction including labiaplasty and vaginoplasty.

In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Champion has held academic roles, teaching Professional Ethics and Health Law to public health and medical students, and mentoring Health Law students in national competitions. She completed a Surgical Communications Fellowship with the TV show Grey's Anatomy and wrote for the show highlighting critical issues such as human trafficking. Furthermore, she was the Lead of Patient Education for Care Access, focusing on innovative treatments, and most recently worked for NASA in the Office of the Chief Health and Medical Officer on their standards and policies.

Personal

Dr. Champion is passionate about the intersection of medicine, media, law, and policy, and she continues to advocate for patients both locally and nationally. Outside of her practice, she is actively involved in community outreach and education, sharing her expertise through workshops and seminars. On a personal note, she has a relative obsession with all things Star Wars and enjoys exploring the great outdoors, spending time with her family, and engaging in various artistic pursuits.
